2014 Mission Banquet


More than 500 people from across the Region attended the annual Mission Banquet on Saturday, October 18th at the Hilton on City Avenue.  It is the our tradition to lift up lay and clergy persons who exhibit a passion for mission.  This year’s theme focused on celebrating the work of persons whose gifts shaped the life of the congregation, hospitality in the neighborhood on behalf of the church and

hospitality related to the issue of immigration (refugee resettlement).

An inspirational message was given by the keynote speaker, Rev. Don Ng.  Rev. Ng is serving as the President of the American Baptist Churches USA (ABCUSA) for the biennium running from January 1, 2014 to December 31, 2015.  Since 1998 Rev. Ng has served s senior pastor of the historic First Chinese Baptist Church in San Francisco that was started by the American Baptist Home Mission Societies in 1880.

Inspirational music was presented by pianist Barry Sames and soloist Sherry Wilson Butler.
